Mainstream Medicine LINKED to Cataracts!?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

It seems like every time you turn on the news, Big Pharma’s drugs are causing MORE problems than they “fix.”

Whether it’s addictive painkillers or (yet again!) another drug recall, it’s clear that Big Pharma doesn’t care… and neither does the FDA.

It almost seems as though the drug companies and the FDA are in cahoots – which couldn’t possibly be true. (I’m being sarcastic, of course.)

But when it comes to this latest side effect, it’s downright shameful that nothing is being done about it.

A new study has just surfaced that links this mainstream medication to cataracts.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Any long-time reader of this newsletter knows I am NOT a fan of statins. These cholesterol-lowering drugs are often sold under the following names:

  • atorvastatin,
  • lovastatin,
  • pitavastatin,
  • pravastatin,
  • rosuvastatin,
  • and simvastatin.

Despite decades of research, scientists yet been able to link lowering cholesterol with any drastic and lasting improvements in health.

In my opinion, they’re nearly worthless. But worse than that, they can be downright harmful.

Cholesterol-lowering drugs already come with a long list of side including muscle pain, liver inflammation, nerve pain, and hair loss.

And now, they’ve been linked to cataracts.

A study published in the British Medical Journal looked at over 2 million people taking cholesterol-lowering drugs and discovered that those taking statins had a higher risk of developing cataracts.

Then another study found that folks in Taiwan taking statins were 20 percent more likely to undergo cataract surgery than people who didn’t take statins

Cholesterol is not the bogeyman that drug companies make it out to be. Your body needs it to maintain your health – especially as you age.

If you’re currently taking statins, talk to your doctor about an alternative plan of action… or get a second opinion.
