Hidden “Everywhere” Chemical Busts Up Blood Sugar Control

I’m passionate about avoiding the harmful effects of sugar.

In fact, I’m so concerned about the damage our over-consumption of the sweet stuff is doing to our health that I wrote an entire book on the subject called Sugarettes.

But even though I take a firm stance about steering clear of sugar, I have an even STRONGER one on NEVER letting artificial sweeteners pass your lips. (Which is why they’re BANNED in my house.)

Artificial sweeteners are man-made chemicals that your body has no clue how to handle.

And there’s a mountain of evidence that these fake sugars wreak havoc in your body, harming your health.

The proven side effects of artificial sweeteners include migraines, vision changes, nausea, insomnia, joint pain, heart palpitations, depression, memory loss, and more.

If you use them yourself, you are undoubtedly doing so because you’re trying to be healthier. But ironically, the opposite is often the result!

The truth is you’re gambling with your health every time you swallow those Franken-sugars.

And now a disturbing new study focuses on some of the damage these creepy chemicals do to your body. And the findings may shock you.

The study published in the journal Cell revealed that eating artificial sweeteners changed some volunteers’ microbiome or belly-bug balance.

We’re just starting to understand how that can be a BIG problem. You see, the microbiome plays a role in our well-being in many unexpected ways, influencing our brain health, heart health, weight management, and more.

Perhaps even MORE shocking is that the study found that these chemical concoctions altered some folk’s blood-sugar control.

See, eating saccharin, sucralose, or aspartame dramatically altered some participants’ gut bacteria. And for some folks, those changes led to worse blood-sugar control.

In addition, it turns out it’s all a bit of an unpredictable crapshoot. Because the researchers found that each of our bodies can react differently to these fake sugars.

Some volunteers had significant changes in blood sugar, and others were only mildly affected. But we don’t yet know how to predict which group you might fall into.

I’ll be the first to admit that limiting the sugars and artificial sweeteners in your diet can be challenging. They’re hidden everywhere, even in places you’d never expect to see them (like in salad dressings!).

You can make two changes to help cut more of them out of your diet.

First, become an avid label reader. Read the nutrition facts on any prepared foods you buy and put any that list unnecessary sugars or artificial sweeteners back on the shelf.

And second, eat foods as close to as they arrive in nature as possible and fix dishes from scratch whenever it’s practical, so you know exactly what’s included in them.

P.S. Still not entirely convinced about giving up artificial sweeteners? I bet you WILL be after reading this. Because it looks like one of the most popular around could put you on the fast track to cancer.
