5-Minute Solution REVERSES Sedentary Damage

I’m sure you’ve heard the news in recent years about how harmful sitting is for your health. In fact, I’ve talked about it right here in Living Well Daily.

Major health associations have likened sitting to smoking. And they’re right.

Planting your bum on the couch to binge-watch your favorite TV show for hours or sitting in front of a computer all day can have DISASTROUS consequences for your health and longevity.

But new research has revealed a powerful 5-minute solution to reverse that damage which you’ve got to see to believe.

There are two mistakes people typically make when they hear the news about the dangers of too much sitting:

  • They think a daily long walk, run, bike, or swim is ALL they need to counteract it.
  • Or they think they must resort to extreme exercise to see a true benefit.

Let’s take a closer look at why BOTH of those options are off base.

I know far too many folks who head to the gym or the track first thing in the morning and are convinced they’ve “paid” for the right to crash on the couch or lounge in their chair for the rest of the day.

But the science clearly shows that couldn’t be further from the truth.

You do benefit from your morning exercise, of course. But that doesn’t mean you can veg out for the rest of the day and not have consequences!

However, it’s equally untrue that you have to run 20 miles, swim 50 laps, and walk up a steep mountain every day to counteract the harm of sitting. Extreme exercise isn’t the answer, either.

A recent study published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise reveals the solution. And it couldn’t be any simpler.

The researchers found that getting up off your behind every half hour and moving for five minutes counters the terrible effects of sitting all day.

And what you GET for that investment is INCREDIBLE.

Folks who got up every half hour had significantly better blood sugar control than those who got up every hour.

Plus, the same group of “30-minute movers” ended up with lower blood pressure.

So, instead of running a marathon, set your watch or phone to ring every half hour and get up and shake your booty for five minutes. You can walk around the house, climb the stairs, or even dance like no one is watching.

P.S. Every time you put on your walking shoes and head out the door, you boost your brain power, as well as help your heart, improve your blood sugar, and give your mood a HUGE boost. And now researchers have discovered that THIS brain-boosting mineral AMPLIFIES your exercise efforts even more.
