Potent Pair SLASHES Alzheimer's Plaques

Aging comes with lots of changes. We expect things like graying hair and wrinkles.

But for some folks, an unexpected change takes place on the inside.

And trust me, this ISN’T a club you want to be part of. Because if you’re in this group, your brain gets silently gunked up with a “sludge” called amyloid plaque.

These plaques inhibit the signals that pass between your brain cells (neurons). And they mess with the cell’s metabolism, blocking necessary nutrients and interfering with repairs.

As a result, brain communications are slowed, then eventually stopped, as the neurons stop functioning, lose connections, and die.

Amyloid plaques are the hallmark of Alzheimer’s and other dementias. And frankly, modern medicine has been stumped by them.

In fact, a series of FAILED (and often downright dangerous) drugs have already come and gone.

But now researchers say a solution may have been staring us in the face all along. A lab study has uncovered two NATURAL substances that attack the plaque problem head-on.

If you want your brain to keep firing on all cylinders for the rest of your life, it’s VITAL to fight off amyloid plaque formation.

And lucky for us, researchers at Tufts University may have just uncovered a simple way to do precisely that.

The study published in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine revealed two common compounds that could fight back against brain-damaging amyloid plaques.

After testing 21 different compounds, researchers found two winners stood out from the crowd: resveratrol and green tea catechins.

  • Resveratrol is a plant antioxidant found in red wine and berries (raspberries, blueberries, etc.).
  • Green tea catechins, such as epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), are also natural antioxidants.

Both plant-based compounds significantly reduced the formation of plaques in brain cells.

In fact, the researchers were so impressed with their performance that they referred to their actions as “really robust prevention of these plaques.” Which for buttoned-up scientist types is HIGH praise.

Plus, they managed this feat with little to no side effects.

Three runner-ups, which also did an excellent job at preventing plaques from forming, were curcumin (from the spice turmeric), the diabetic medication Metformin, and citicoline (a naturally occurring brain compound available as a supplement).

Keep in mind that this was a lab study. So more research will be needed. But the results are ALREADY impressive. The green tea and resveratrol completely eliminated the Alzheimer-linked plaques within just three weeks.

Now, to be realistic, you likely won’t get enough of either compound by drinking green tea and red wine alone. To get REAL results, ask your doctor about taking a super-concentrated supplement as well.

But don’t stop there. I have a few more brain-supporting suggestions to try:

  • Exercise: One of the best ways to KEEP your brain healthy is to exercise. Find an activity you love and do it as often as you can. Walking, running, biking, swimming, dancing, golfing, and playing tennis all count. WHAT you do isn’t as important as doing it CONSISTENTLY.
  • Proteins: Grass-fed and free-range meats are full of good fats (without the creepy chemicals). Proteins help the neurons in your brain communicate with each other.
  • Antioxidants: Eat plenty of colorful antioxidant-rich produce. If you don’t get enough fruits and vegetables in your diet, make sure you supplement to fight off oxidative stress and symptoms like memory loss. I use a superfood blend that I mix into my food daily.
  • Fish oil: Most people don’t get enough of the essential fatty acids found in fish oil. Omega-3s, in particular, support proper blood flow in the brain. If you’re not eating fish two to three times a week, make sure you supplement.
  • Astaxanthin: This red pigment is found in algae, yeast, salmon, trout, krill, and shrimp. The natural carotenoid improves learning and decreases memory impairment and damage to neurons in the brain.
  • Vitamin E and selenium: This tag team of nutrients fights oxidative stress and inflammation for better brain health.
