Artificial sweetener packets in black container includes yellow sucralose package

SHOCKING Discovery About a Common Sweetener

For years, we’ve been fed a lie.

Artificial sweetener ads show folks having fun and enjoying foods and drinks without a shred of worry about what they’ll do to their waistlines.

It’s a cruel trick.

There’s not a shred of evidence that these fake sugars do any such thing. In fact, growing evidence suggests they won’t help balance your blood sugar OR help you lose weight.

Even stranger, for reasons we’re still trying to figure out, when you eat artificial sweeteners, your blood sugar may RISE, and you’re more likely to GAIN weight.

And it gets worse. Artificial sweeteners are ALSO linked to certain cancers and more migraines.

But researchers recently revealed what’s easily the MOST shocking news we’ve seen yet about these fake sugars.

Shocking Study About Artificial Sweetener Sucralose

Scientists from North Carolina State University recently published a study in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health. It uncovered something shocking about a popular artificial sweetener.

The study focused on sucralose, which you may know better by the brand name “Splenda.”

The researchers exposed human blood cells and gut tissue to sucralose and a compound in the artificial sweetener called sucralose-6-acetate (S6A). They concluded that S6A damages DNA (AKA, it’s genotoxic).

The chemical caused a “leaky gut,” making the connections in the gut tissue more permeable. Meaning that things normally flushed from your body when you go to the bathroom can, instead, end up in your bloodstream.

You’ll find some sucralose-6-acetate in ANY package of sucralose sweetener. But even MORE of the creepy compound is created when you swallow sucralose, and your body starts to detoxify the chemicals in the fake sugar.

To put this in perspective, let’s take a look at what the European Food Safety Authority (UFSA) has to say about genotoxic substances (since our own FDA is all too often asleep on the job).

The USFA set a toxic threshold for all genotoxic substances of 0.15 micrograms per person per day. Just ONE packet of a sucralose-based sweetener FAR exceeds 0.15 micrograms per person per day.

Research Uncovered Cancer-linked Changes

And when the scientists focused on what sucralose-6-acetate does to colon cells, they found it increases oxidative stress, inflammation, and carcinogenicity (all of which could lead to cancer).

The researchers concluded, “These findings raise health and safety concerns regarding the continued presence of sucralose in the food supply and indicate that a regulatory status review needs to be undertaken.”

Now keep in mind this was a lab experiment. Confirming the findings requires more research. But what we know ALREADY is plenty enough for me to advise folks to toss the artificial sweeteners.

I’ve spent years warning people to stop eating sugar. Heck, I wrote a whole book on the subject. But even I would tell you to choose real sugar over an artificial sweetener every time.

P.S. Recently researchers pinpointed PRECISELY how much sugar a day sends your disease risk soaring. It’s SHOCKING how little it is. CLICK HERE for the details.
