Weird Trick SLASHES Your Risk of Falls?!

One out of four adults 65 or older fall every year.

That’s a startling statistic. But it’s only HALF the story…

A fall that causes some cuts or bruises may leave you achy and uncomfortable for weeks.

But one in which you break a bone or drastically hurt yourself, can have far-reaching health consequences for YEARS to come.

In fact, it often triggers a merry-go-round of falls and injuries that can dramatically shorten your lifespan.

One group of researchers wants to put an END to this deadly cycle. And their unique method WORKS!

But you’re never going to believe WHAT it is.

In the past, bedrest was encouraged after a fall. Little did we know this was TERRIBLE advice. In fact, it doesn’t help with recovery or prevent future falls.

We now KNOW there’s nothing worse (especially for an older body) than lying in bed all day. And yet, many folks still end up there after taking a tumble.

People who are confined to bed have FAR shorter lifespans. And the reason why is simple.

When you lie in bed, you lose muscle mass. Lost muscle mass is hard to get back. And that means you’re far more likely to fall again.

This cycle is a big part of why around 36,000 people a year die from falls.

But those researchers I mentioned earlier hope to HALT this hellish pattern. And believe it or not, they aren’t focusing on muscle building.

Instead, they intend to do it with BRAIN TRAINING.

And as strange as that sounds, their study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health PROVES they’re onto something.

They showed cognitive training CAN significantly reduce the risk of falling.

Their method, called speed of processing training, required volunteers to try to correctly identify increasingly complex visual information on a computer.

Over time, this taught their brains to respond more quickly to important stimuli while disregarding unimportant visual noise.

The results were nothing short of incredible. Participants who went through this training were 31 percent less likely to have another fall during the 10 years of the study!

If you’re interested in trying out this method, there are online games as well as apps for your smartphone that incorporate this type of brain training. Try searching for “speed of processing training online.”

One I like is BrainHQ. It’s attached to a study, fun to do, and when you subscribe, there’s even an option for you to participate for free.

And another thing…
