Delicious Solution DODGES Depression

In general, older folks are more content than younger people.

After all, we’ve seen and SURVIVED a lot through the years. That tends to make us more resilient.

But no one is made from stone. And we ALL get depressed from time to time.

Heck, simply watching the news these days can send you spiraling into despair!

But there’s an easy (not to mention TASTY!) fix. In fact, you may already have this blues buster in your kitchen pantry RIGHT NOW…

Believe it or not, I’m talking about one of my favorite snacks… delicious nuts.

Evidence keeps rolling in on the health benefits of adding more of these tasty treats to your menu. And it’s not just MOOD boosting benefits we’re talking about here, either.

Nuts are an excellent source of nutrients that protect us from chronic disease, oxidative stress, and inflammation. Plus, they’ve even been linked to better brain function and heart health. (More on those in just a moment.)

Now, a new study highlights yet another benefit of humble tree nuts. And that, of course, is a lower risk of depression.

The new study gathered and analyzed data from 13,504 volunteers and found that those who ate MORE tree nuts were significantly LESS likely to battle depression.

The researchers found that folks who ate 30 grams of nuts daily (about a handful) had a 17 percent lower risk of depression.

This was an observational study, of course. So, more research is needed to solidify the link.

But there are already plenty of reasons to eat more nuts.

The fact is, nuts give you a TON of nutritional bang for the buck. They contain healthy fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and a good assortment of bioactive molecules, including phenols and polyphenols.

If you want to lose a few pounds (or maintain your weight), the combination of protein and fiber in nuts helps fill you up, discouraging snacking on unhealthy alternatives.

The tag team of arginine (an amino acid) and omega-3s in nuts ALSO makes them a heart hero. They help expand your arteries and keep them flexible, improving blood pressure and endothelial function.

Other research found that a daily dose of nuts benefits blood flow in the brain, leading to better memory in older folks.

And another study linked regularly snacking on nuts to strengthened brain waves associated with key brain functions, including cognition, healing, learning, and memory.

I suggest you place a bowl of your favorite nuts somewhere you’re bound to see it like the kitchen counter or coffee table. And then grab a handful whenever you walk past it during the day.

Your brain, heart, and MOOD will benefit.

P.S. Dinner plate link to depression (Disturbing!)
