Fiery Spice DOUSES the Flames of Autoimmune Disease
For as long as humans have written words, they’ve written about ginger.
The fiery and invigorating spice has been a culinary and medicinal staple in countless cultures for thousands of years.
However, recent research reveals this knobby brown root could ALSO be a godsend for anyone battling an autoimmune disease…
Autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis arise when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues.
This leads to widespread inflammation as the body is caught in a devastating loop in which it continues to attack ITSELF like a foreign invader.
According to a new study just published in the journal JCI Insight, taking a ginger supplement could help people with autoimmune diseases control damaging inflammation.
With an autoimmune disease, white blood cells called neutrophils perceive other cells and tissues as a threat and attack them.
But ginger supplements appear to TARGET those white blood cells, keeping the overactive neutrophils in check and reducing inflammation.
Many studies show that ginger is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
Gingerol, the main bioactive compound in the spice, dials down the production of pro-inflammatory immune messengers called cytokines and reduces oxidative stress throughout the body.
By keeping these inflammatory responses in check, ginger may be able to short-circuit the immune system overactivation that’s at the center of all autoimmune diseases.
Other research found that ginger can reduce pain and swelling in the joints of folks battling rheumatoid arthritis.
Ginger is safe with few side effects for most people when used in moderation. For folks battling autoimmune or other inflammatory conditions, I typically suggest supplementing with 500 to 1000 mg of dried ginger powder 1 to 3 times daily.
Sipping on ginger tea or using ginger in your favorite dishes is another delicious way to boost your daily dose of ginger.
When it comes to taming autoimmune flare-ups, ginger is a spicy solution worth exploring. Its anti-inflammatory properties can put out the internal fires of an overactive immune system.
P.S. Recent research confirms ginger is tops for tackling tummy troubles, too. CLICK HERE for all the soothing details.
