New Study Drives ANOTHER Nail into Statin’s Coffin

Statins are the MOST commonly prescribed drug in the United States.

They’re taken by MILLIONS to lower cholesterol and prevent heart attack and stroke.

But a new study published in the British Medical Journal links these drugs to elevated blood sugars and a raised diabetes risk again.

That’s right… AGAIN!

Because the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has KNOWN about this link for over a decade.

But wait… it gets worse

Despite the evidence for alarming statin side effects stacking up… and FDA warnings being slapped on the drug’s labels… doctors CONTINUE to dole out prescriptions.

Many docs believe their advertised benefits justify their use.

They insist preventing heart disease trumps the possibility of spiking blood glucose.

Except there’s one colossal GAPING hole in that argument…

There’s NO solid proof statins prevent heart disease.

Multiple studies cast serious doubt on whether statins cut heart deaths as claimed.

The drugs do appear to lower LDL cholesterol levels in some patients.

But the number of fatal heart attacks and strokes remains unchanged, calling into question their life-saving reputation.

But wait… there’s MORE…

High blood sugar levels raise body-wide inflammation and increase oxidative damage, the underlying cause of blocked arteries.

In other words, the poor blood sugar control that statins have repeatedly been linked to is one of the MAIN causes of heart disease.

If you’re concerned about your cholesterol levels but prefer to avoid statins, you can try some natural approaches first.

  • Tweak your diet. Focus on healthy proteins—grass-fed beef, cold-water fatty fish, free-range chicken, organic nuts, and organic seeds—and low-starch veggies. Avoid inflammatory sugar and vegetable oils and switch to extra virgin olive and avocado oil.
  • Try fish oil. The EPA and DHA in fish oil are heart-healthy and help naturally manage cholesterol levels. Studies show the omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil can reduce heart disease risk by up to 52 percent. They work by reducing inflammation and softening up arteries so they stay flexible. I typically advise taking between one and three grams daily.
  • Take Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is an antioxidant enzyme that’s used for energy production. Since the heart is one of the most energy-hungry organs in the body, it needs CoQ10. The enzyme lowers inflammation, reduces blood clots, reigns in blood pressure, and lowers cholesterol levels.
  • Consider niacin. Vitamin B3 or niacin effectively lowers cholesterol, reduces triglycerides, and increases HDL (“good”) cholesterol.
  • Eat more garlic. Eat as much garlic as you like, or take it as a supplement. It naturally lowers cholesterol and is great for your heart health.

Statins aren’t your only option. Discuss trying these alternatives FIRST with your doctor.

P.S. Common cooking oil SLASHES dementia risk!
