Probiotic Secret SUPERCHARGES Gut Health
I’m often asked if probiotics are a good idea. And the answer to that question is a resounding “YES!”
Probiotics allow you to choose specific bacterial strains and take LARGE doses to improve your health in all kinds of ways.
But you shouldn’t stop there. There are many things you can do to improve your overall gut health.
And there’s ONE specific change you can make that TOPS that list…
Making more fermented foods part of your diet is an easy and effective way to boost your gut health and bump up your probiotic intake.
And doing that is likely easier than you might imagine…
- If you like yogurt, look for brands with live, active bacteria. Most of the time, Greek and skyr yogurts have more protein. Many non-dairy yogurts contain active cultures and are tasty too.
- Kefir is a fermented milk drink. Kefir contains many different kinds of healthy bacteria. It can take a moment to get used to its sour flavor. But many folks grow to love the tart taste.
- A tasty and refreshing fermented tea called kombucha is another excellent option. Kombucha contains probiotics and vitamins. Look for local brands that are refrigerated.
- Raw, unpasteurized sauerkraut is packed full of good bacteria. Typically, you can find sauerkraut with live probiotic cultures in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store.
- Kimchi is a spicy Korean side dish that contains lactobacilli, which are great for your gut health. This delicious fermented dish has become so popular that it’s becoming easier to find. But depending on where you live, you might need to search a few stores before you find it.
- Miso is made from fermented soybeans and is full of nutrients and bacteria. You can add miso paste to soups, broths, side dishes, and salads.
- Tempeh is a fermented soy product that’s rich in probiotics. It’s also packed with protein and vitamins. And because of its pleasant nutty flavor, it’s easy to find ways to incorporate tempeh into your meals.
- Naturally fermented and unpasteurized pickles are another tasty way to load up on probiotics. Check the refrigerated section of your favorite grocery store.
Try adding various fermented foods to your diet to expose your gut to different strains of good bacteria. Just be sure to watch your portion size to start since they can temporarily make you feel bloated and gassy.
P.S. Uncover the gut health trick you HAVEN’T heard about yet. (Easy!)
