Stay “Forever Young” with THIS Taste Bud Trick

We all want to remain youthful, healthy, and vibrant as we age.

But that’s easier said than done.

Sure, you can fork over the cash for the latest designer anti-aging cream, drink gallons of raw water (whatever that is?), and try to survive on a diet consisting only of green veggies.

But the answer to staying “forever young” might actually lie where your TASTE BUDS will lead you.

It turns out the real secret to aging gracefully may be something MANY people crave. And that’s protein.

When you think about protein, you might imagine bodybuilders chugging down protein shakes. But I’m talking about high-quality ANIMAL proteins like meat, eggs, and dairy.

They provide the essential amino acids that preserve muscle mass and strength as you age.

You see, as we age, we gradually lose muscle in a process called sarcopenia.

Without enough protein (especially after 60), sarcopenia accelerates and your muscles waste away—no matter how much you work out. You need both strength training exercises and adequate protein intake to build and maintain them as you age.

Protein also keeps the rest of your cells and tissues functioning at full capacity throughout your body.

As you age, processes like wound healing, immune function, and cellular renewal decline. But high-quality protein can counteract much of this age-related deterioration by providing the amino acid building blocks your body needs to thrive.

Several studies found that after middle age, people who eat a moderate amount of animal protein live longer, healthier lives than those who skimp.

One recent study followed over 48,000 postmenopausal women 50–79 for over twenty years. The researchers found that those who included meat, fish, eggs, and dairy in their diets were 46 percent more likely to be healthy than those who avoided animal foods altogether.

Plus, the moderate meat eaters had significantly reduced risks of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, frailty, and cognitive decline.

Does this mean you should ONLY eat meat and other animal proteins? Not at all.

In fact, the women in the study still ate a primarily plant-based diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. These plants provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytonutrients your body needs for optimal function.

I typically advise folks to eat as many vegetables as they wish, then add moderate portions of high-quality animal proteins like meat, eggs, and dairy. And, of course, cut back on refined grains, sugars, and heavily processed foods.

When you COMBINE plants and animal proteins you give your body the balanced nutrition it needs to stay strong, energetic, and youthful well into your 70s, 80s, and beyond!
