Snacking on “Fat Bombs” Drops Disease Risk 67%

Repeat after me, “Fat is NOT my foe.”

As I’ve explained before (including earlier this week), eating fat is not only safe, it’s NECESSARY.

Besides, there are FAR bigger problems with most folk’s diets than saturated fats, including added sugars, preservatives, emulsifiers, and artificial colors.

Now, new research from Vanderbilt University Medical Center puts yet another nail in the coffin of those nutty fat fears.

The study found that people who eat pistachios and mixed nuts tend to have BETTER weight control and MORE efficient fat metabolism.

Researchers recruited a group of young adults with risk factors for metabolic syndrome (a combo of health factors that increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes).

The volunteers ate either one ounce of unsalted mixed nuts or one ounce of refined carbohydrates (like pretzels or crackers) as a snack twice daily for 16 weeks.

They made NO other changes to their diet or exercise routines.

By the end of the 16 weeks, the women in the study who snacked on the little “fat bombs” had their risk for metabolic syndrome PLUMMET by a stunning 67 percent. And the men in the nut group had their risk dive by an impressive 42 percent.

For years, conventional wisdom has warned against nuts because of their high fat and calorie content. We’ve been told they will make us gain weight and mess with our metabolism.

This randomized trial upends that antiquated thinking and puts nuts (and the fats within them) BACK on the menu.

Eating a daily handful of nuts helped study participants avoid packing on pounds. Plus, it ALSO actively reduced common markers of metabolic disease, like high blood pressure and elevated blood sugar.

Nuts provide beneficial fats, protein, fiber, and micronutrients. Their impressive nutrition profile allows them to regulate appetite hormones, improve cholesterol, and support fat burning.

The assertion that we should avoid eating them and other high-fat plant foods because they harm our health is nothing more than a myth.

The fact is, unprocessed, minimally handled plant and animal foods should form the foundation of any healthy diet. Plus, let’s face it, they’re delicious!

P.S. The food industry’s dirty little secret is REVEALED!
