“Eat the Rainbow” Trick Drives Down Cancer Risk

If I were to ask you, “What’s the color of good health?” what would you say?

Maybe it’s green or blue, the “colors of nature.” Or rosy pink cheeks may come to mind.

Well, it turns out the “colors of the rainbow” might be the best answer.

Research suggests the key to a long, healthy life could lie in harnessing the power hidden inside vibrant fruits and vegetables.

And now scientists say compounds in that same colorful produce could ward off deadly cancer.

Recent research shed light on how flavonols, a group of potent compounds in fruits and veggies, are critical for continued good health.

This subclass of flavonoids is already linked to a lower risk of chronic diseases. Now, a large study published in the journal Scientific Reports confirms these nutrients’ wide-ranging health benefits.

The study included nearly 12,000 U.S. adults and found that those who ate more flavonol-rich foods had lower overall mortality rates and fewer cases of cancer and heart disease. Plus, the more you eat, the BIGGER the benefits.

The study focused on four specific flavonol subtypes:

  • isorhamnetin,
  • kaempferol,
  • myricetin, and
  • quercetin

To get more of them into your diet, eat a variety of produce and plant-based foods. This includes flavonol-rich onions, kale, lettuce, grapes, berries, black tea, and chocolate (dark and in moderation, of course).

Remember, the vibrant colors of fruits and vegetables don’t JUST make your meals look more visually appealing—they also serve as a reminder of the powerful nutrients hidden inside.

So, to send your chances of staying heart-healthy and cancer-free soaring, go ahead and eat the rainbow.

P.S. Plus, this delicious produce aisle secret SUPERCHARGES aging muscles.
