Study Reveals ANOTHER Powerful Coffee Perk
Before I get started, I want to say Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. I hope your day is filled with delicious food, a refreshing nap, and lots of hilarious Dad jokes.
It’s time to talk about everyone’s favorite morning pick-me-up: coffee!
As a long-time coffee enthusiast, I’ve always known that this delightful beverage is more than just a tasty way to kickstart your day.
Coffee is a powerhouse of health benefits, and new research has just added to the list of reasons why you should indulge in a cup or two (or three, I won’t judge) daily.
I’ve covered coffee’s many perks here in Living Well Daily before.
Your cup of Joe has many benefits, including:
- helping regulate your blood sugar levels,
- keeping your heart and liver in tip-top shape,
- fighting depression,
- and even reducing your risk of Alzheimer’s.
However, a new study has revealed yet another reward for a regular Java habit. Coffee can help protect against Parkinson’s.
The study was conducted by an international team of researchers who looked at data collected from 184,024 individuals over an average of 13 years. And guess what they found?
Coffee drinkers had a significantly lower risk of developing Parkinson’s compared to those who didn’t touch the stuff.
In fact, the top 25 percent of coffee drinkers were an incredible 40 percent less likely to develop this debilitating neurological disorder than their non-coffee-drinking counterparts.
The scientists then took the research further by analyzed blood samples from hundreds of people with Parkinson’s.
They measured levels of caffeine’s primary metabolites, paraxanthine, and theophylline, and discovered an inverse association with the risk of developing the disease.
In other words, the MORE of these compounds in your blood, the LESS likely you are to face a Parkinson’s diagnosis.
So, when you sit down for your next mug, remember that your daily habit isn’t just a delicious ritual. Every sip ALSO delivers a powerful shot of brain protection.
But as always, remember to enjoy your coffee in moderation. If you go overboard, it can mess with your sleep or amp up your anxiety.
Now if you excuse me, I’m off to refill my mug.
P.S. Beware of this “Coffee Trap” that can UNDO some of the best coffee benefits.
