Arthritis Drug DOUBLES Your Cancer Risk?!

Dear Reader,

Even though studies show a drug has bad side effects – doctors continue to urge patients to take it.

I’ve never understood this.

They’ll tell you to keep taking estrogen (even though it’s linked to breast cancer), cholesterol drugs are fine (though, in my opinion, they do nothing for heart disease), and you’re okay to take antidepressants (even though they could make you suicidal).

Well it’s happened again.

If you suffer with arthritis it’s time to check the medicine you’re taking to treat it. Your doc will tell you it’s safe… but new research shows that this drug sends your cancer risk through the roof.

Are you taking it?

Methotrexate is a drug commonly used for arthritis. Originally, it was used to treat cancer. But a scientist observed methotrexate interfered with of growth of connective tissue which meant it could be helpful for those with arthritis.

So the FDA happily approved it as an arthritis treatment.

But here’s the laundry list of problems that come with this decision…

While methotrexate may provide symptom relief of arthritis, it doesn’t actually fix the problem.

Underneath this “Band-Aid” the pain continues. And if you stop taking methotrexate? You’ll have a rebound and the pain will be far worse than it was when you started.

Then there’s the results of this new study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Researchers were surprised to find that patients who took methotrexate were twice as likely to develop skin cancer than people not taking the drug.

What’s worse? Methotrexate is loaded with other side effects. These include: cirrhosis of the liver, diarrhea, headache, sun sensitivity, easy bruising, rashes, bleeding in your gums, blood in your stool, and too many others to name…

The icing on this disastrous cake is that most people have to keep taking more and more for it to still be effective.

And before you know it, a small dose soon becomes a large dose…

And it sends your risk for any number of these side effects skyrocketing.

But once again I read an article that said doctors don’t believe the drug is too dangerous to take. And that you should continue taking it. Never mind the skin cancer and other health-wrecking side effects.

P.S. Methotrexate is a drug that you shouldn’t stop taking without consulting your healthcare professional. You should always seek guidance before changing your medication.
