Aspartame ALERT Straight From the WHO

I met up with an old friend last weekend for a funeral. We hadn’t talked to each other in over 20 years.

He told me he’d taken my advice on artificial sweeteners to heart years ago. He never let them cross his lips.

And now he was so glad that he’d listened because a ton of news stories about how BAD these fake sugars are for your health are coming out.

I feel as strongly about these chemicals today as I did back then.

In fact, I wrote an ENTIRE book about the dangers of eating sugar, and yet I’d STILL rather people put that stuff into their bodies than even THINK about using artificial sweeteners.

And now it looks like the World Health Organization (WHO) may FINALLY agree with me.

The WHO has placed the artificial sweetener aspartame on its list of possible carcinogens.

Aspartame was created in a laboratory in 1965. Food manufacturers started dumping it into our food in 1981. It’s 150 to 200 times sweeter-tasting than sugar and has no calories.

On paper, aspartame seems like the perfect sugar substitute for folks watching their waistlines or blood sugar: no calories and a sweet taste.

But from the start, aspartame has raised red flags.

It’s been linked to neurological and behavioral disorders including, headaches, depression, and convulsions. There are concerns about a potential link to cancer.

And ironically, folks who regularly use this fake sugar DON’T lose weight or have better blood sugar control as a result.

Aspartame contains a chemical molecule that, when eaten, breaks down into…

  • aspartate,
  • phenylalanine (amino acids),
  • and methanol.

Methanol can harm the liver, brain, and eyes when consumed in large amounts.

Manufacturers KNOW that it’s dangerous, but they insist that aspartame has so little of it that it shouldn’t hurt people.

But methanol isn’t the end of the story. As your body detoxifies methanol, it turns it into formaldehyde. Both methanol and formaldehyde are toxic to cells in your body.

The reason the WHO finally put aspartame on its list is simple: There’s  a growing stack of studies showing aspartame has carcinogenic potential.

So, do yourself a favor and purge your pantry of artificial sweeteners TODAY.

P.S. Aspartame isn’t the only artificial sweetener you need to worry about. Scientists from North Carolina State University recently uncovered something shocking about ANOTHER popular artificial sweetener.
