Bad Sleep Habits TRIPLE Your Risk for This Disease

Nothing feels as good as a good night’s sleep!

Drifting off in your cozy bed and dreaming peaceful dreams… it’s the best!

But if you have trouble getting to sleep—OR trouble getting out of bed—you could be putting yourself in danger.

Because while you’re snoozing away, your body could be turning against you…

And DESTROYING your health.

Researchers were shocked recently when they discovered a direct link between poor sleep and pulmonary fibrosis.

Previous studies show that our circadian rhythm plays an important role in infection, cancer, depression and anxiety, weight loss, diabetes, and more.

Now, we know that it can extend its reach even further.

In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers looked into the causes of pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease where healthy tissue is replaced by scar tissue.

And they were SHOCKED at what they found.

Using information from the UK Biobank, an ongoing project in England, researchers discovered that people who sleep less than six hours a day DOUBLED their risk of having pulmonary fibrosis.

But it’s not just light sleepers and insomniacs who have to worry— people sleeping more than eleven hours TRIPLED their chances of getting the disease.

The researchers found a core body clock protein called REVERBα that can alter the production of collagen in the lungs and cause scar tissue to form, the main symptom of pulmonary fibrosis.

It’s a powerful reminder that to keep our bodies healthy, we have to pay attention to our sleep habits. Like Goldilocks and her porridge, it needs to be just right. The sweet spot is between 7-8 hours each night.

If you have trouble getting to sleep, try a melatonin supplement or a cup of chamomile tea before bed.
