Banish Eczema with This Miracle Vitamin

Winter is almost upon us and that means a lot of change is coming our way

And for those who suffer with eczema, those changes can be nasty

That’s because eczema typically worsens during the wintertime. And it’s namely due to the air losing humidity and our skin becoming much dryer.

But it’s also because of something that starts to disappear as the season changes.

What is it? Less sunshine.

And not just the sunshine itself – but less natural vitamin D.

If you aren’t taking vitamin D right now, you should stop whatever you are doing and get some.

Eczema (or what doctors call atopic dermatitis) is the most common skin disorder in the world. People with this condition have red, itchy skin that gets worse in the winter.

The main reason this happens is because the sun creates active vitamin D in our bodies. When ultraviolet rays from the sun hit our skin, it changes inactive vitamin D into the active form our bodies need.

Vitamin D does so many great things. It works by boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, and is great for your skin.

Recent research, published in the journal Pharmacology Research and Perspective, tested vitamin D in a randomized trial of 86 children with eczema. The participants either took daily vitamin D or placebo for three months

After 90 days, doctors performed examinations, and everyone was given a score

The children taking vitamin D fared far better than placebo group (with 56 percent of children who took supplements had improvement compared with 42 percent in the placebo group – a 25 percent improvement!).

If you want to make your skin shine, try the following.

Dr. Scott’s Skin Program:

  • Get 1000-3000 IU of vitamin D every day. Especially in winter, you need to supplement every day.
  • Eat a diet full of color and as many veggies as you can
  • Take anti-aging nutrients. Alpha-lipoic acid, CoQ10, and astaxanthin are powerful antioxidants and anti-aging nutrients.
  • Keep your blood sugar under control. One of the other reasons our skin ages fast is because of out-of-control blood sugar. Use the mineral chromium and the herbal extract berberine to help keep your blood sugar under control.
  • Exercise. Getting enough exercise not only helps bring blood to your skin, but you can also get more sunshine–which helps your body produce its own vitamin D.
