Belly Trick BOOSTS Brain Function

Boy do I love a cheap and easy solution.

And if you can’t resist a good bargain either, keep reading. Because I have a brain-boosting one to share that fits the bill.

If you’re like most folks, you intend to stay as sharp as a tack well into your golden years. So, you’re always on the lookout for ways to support your brain health as you age.

Now, a new study published in the journal Nature Communications, reveals how you can do precisely that with a potent solution that won’t break the bank.

You’ve likely heard the news by now that what’s good for your gut health is also good for your brain.

In fact, it’s a topic I’ve often written about right here in Living Well Daily.

Now, an exciting new study finds that an ordinary daily prebiotic supplement could improve memory test scores in people over 60.

Prebiotics are non-digestible fiber that help stimulate the growth of gut microbes.

The trial involved two affordable plant fiber prebiotics that are available over the counter…

  • inulin
  • fructooligosaccharides (FOS)

To test what effects these supplements have on the aging brain, researchers at King’s College London enrolled 36 pairs of twins over 60. Each pair was randomly split so that one twin was assigned a daily prebiotic and the other a placebo.

The results were remarkable. Three months later the twins who took the prebiotic tended to score significantly higher on cognitive tests than their siblings.

This suggests that these simple, inexpensive supplements impact brain function in older adults.

Prebiotics work by feeding the beneficial bacteria in our gut. And now scientists believe that those good gut bugs then produce compounds that can improve brain function.

The gut-brain connection has been the subject of a ton of research in recent years, and this study provides further evidence of how critical our gastrointestinal health is.

To boost your prebiotic intake start eating more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains—then consider taking a supplement.

Inulin and FOS are widely available and can be easily incorporated into your daily routine.

Whether you add them to your morning smoothie, sprinkle them on your cereal, or swallow a daily pill, prebiotics could give your brain the boost it needs to stay sharp as you age.

P.S. Gut health is critical at any age. It’s NEVER too late to make your gut healthier or to benefit from that improvement. Here’s how to get started
