“Cough Concoction” Ends Your Cough 5x Faster (All-Natural!)
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
Coughs can be downright annoying!
A cough can start for any number of reasons. Sometimes it’s an allergic reaction, sometimes it’s an infection (like a cold, flu, or even pneumonia or bronchitis), and sometimes it could be a reaction to a drug.
The cough itself really doesn’t do much harm, though it can sometimes cause your chest and ribs to hurt.
But that doesn’t mean you should suffer through the frustration of a seemingly endless cough!
Thing is, when it comes to getting rid of a cough, opting for an over-the-counter (OTC) cough medicine is certainly not your best bet. Not only because they don’t work that well, but because they’re loaded with nasty side effects.
The good news? I have a better way to stop your cough in its tracks.
Researchers have found that this natural “cough concoction” can REDUCE coughing almost five times as fast… without side effects!
I know when you’re hit with an annoying, painful cough you’re tempted to do just about anything to get rid of it.
But when you reach for those OTC cough suppressants, you’re grabbing something that A.) doesn’t work well, and B.) will land you with more health problems like constipation, dry mouth, and drowsiness.
And if we’re being honest, many studies on cough syrups showed that they didn’t perform any better than the placebo.
However, new research has discovered that a combination of pineapple juice, honey, and cayenne pepper helped dissolve mucus in the lungs of patients who had a chronic cough because of tuberculosis.
A follow-up study found that pineapple juice extracts could decrease the amount of mucus five times faster than cough syrups! Even better? Patients recovered from coughing 4.8 times quicker when they consumed the pineapple cocktail.
A well-known enzyme found in pineapple called bromelain has strong anti-inflammatory properties, which is one main reason scientists believe pineapple juice works so well. Bromelain also contains mucolytic properties that help breakdown mucus and expel it from the lungs.
Bromelain has a long history of being used for inflammation reduction and to even aid against cancer.
But it’s not the only nutrient that can help ease your path to recovery. Pineapple is also rich in nutrients such as manganese, beta carotene, copper, zinc, folate, and others.
The takeaway? Rather than reach for a chemical cough suppressant, consider giving pineapple juice a shot.
Here’s a simple recipe:
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 3” chunk of ginger root, sliced
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of organic raw honey
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Pinch of salt
Combine ingredients and enjoy, hot or cold.
