[COVID-19] Will You Be SICK for Months?! (SCARY)

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

The COVID-19 vaccine has given us a shining ray of hope to cling to.

And as millions across the nation get vaccinated, you can almost hear the sigh of relief.

But we still have a long way to go before we can get back to “normal.”

Despite wearing masks, social distancing, and washing our hands, millions more are diagnosed with COVID-19 each day.

And it could get worse.

Right now, researchers have discovered that for 73 percent of patients, COVID-19 could come with a shocking side effect.

A new study published in The Lancet found that COVID patients could suffer from symptoms for up to six months after their diagnosis.

The researchers followed up with a group of 1,733 patients from Wuhan, China (the epicenter of the pandemic). All had been hospitalized with COVID in the first five months of the pandemic.

The participants were given lab work, as well as a physical and a brief walking test to assess their health.

And they found that 76 percent of them were STILL suffering from symptoms… six months after their hospitalization.

After taking a closer look at the data, researchers saw the following:

  • 63 percent of patients dealt with fatigue and muscle aches,
  • 26 percent had trouble sleeping,
  • And 23 percent were suffering from anxiety and depression.

The study also found that serious long-term effects are directly related to the severity of the case. People who were on ventilators suffered from the worst long-term effects.

There’s increasing data from this and other studies suggesting that COVID-19 is far from a sudden infection that comes and goes quickly.

In fact, there’s a growing group of so-called “long haulers”— people who have COVID-19 symptoms for weeks and months. The long haulers have various symptoms, the most common being constant fever, a dry cough, and fatigue.

What can you do?

Some new research suggests that the severity of the disease is directly correlated to your viral load – the amount of virus particles in your body.

One way to prevent this is by wearing a mask and limiting exposure to people outside your household.

And, as always, keep your body in tip-top shape by eating well, staying away from sugar and artificial “fake” foods. Also, make sure you are getting enough nutrients and supplementing to make up for any shortfalls.

P.S. In case you missed it, here’s a FUN way to bulletproof your immune system against colds, viruses, and more. Read all about it right here.
