Deadly Infections Are No Match For This…

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

It’s a deadly threat that’s already killing 23,000 Americans a year… many of them seniors.

And government scientists say it’s only going to get worse.

I’m talking about “superbugs” — those bacteria that are becoming resistant to just about every antibiotic around.

For decades, mainstream doctors have been feeding the problem by over-prescribing antibiotics for conditions they were never meant to treat.

Well, the mainstream may have caused the problem… but Mother Nature may be on the verge of fixing it.

Because scientists have just proven that a tiny berry could be the secret to blasting deadly superbugs and stopping antibiotic resistance… before it becomes a full-blown epidemic.

I’m talking about the humble cranberry.

That’s right, the tart little berry that usually accompanies your turkey dinner might be the key to solving the drug-resistant bacteria crisis.

You see, ordinary cranberry has the power to break up biofilms.

That means it may be effective against ANY type of infection… including superbugs.

For bacteria to infect you, they must be able to stick. Once they adhere and populate, they create a biofilm that can lead to severe and even deadly infections.

So if you can stop the bacteria from adhering, you can stop the infection from growing.

A recent study from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth shows that cranberry can blast biofilms and maybe keep deadly superbugs at bay.

In the experiment, researchers used a high-powered microscope to look at the effects of cranberry juice on E. coli, a dangerous strain of bacteria.

After exposing the bacteria to specific compounds in the cranberry juice called flavonols, the scientists were amazed…

The cranberry flavonols cut the bacteria’s sticking power to nearly zero.

In other words, the cranberry was able to bust up the biofilm and stop the bacteria’s growth before they could turn into a deadly infection.

Scientists say this research could be the key to finding alternative treatments for bacterial infections and could even help reduce the occurrence of drug-resistant superbug infections.

Loading up on fresh or dried cranberries couldn’t be easier — they’re available just about everywhere.

If the tart taste isn’t your favorite, you can also purchase cranberry supplements through natural health stores and online retailers like vitacost.com. They’ll cost you about $11 for a four-month supply.
