[WARNING] Diabetes Drug Causes CANCER?!
Dear Reader,
Are you taking metformin?
The FDA is contacting drug companies who manufacture the drug and informing them that found a toxic chemical called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in their drug.
And if you didn’t already know, NDMA is considered a “probable human carcinogen.”
You won’t believe what the drug company spokesperson had to say about a poison being found in their drug…
The Food and Drug Administration discovered N-Nitrosodimethylamine, or NDMA, beyond acceptable amounts in some extended-release versions of metformin – a drug used for blood sugar control.
What was the spokeswoman’s response?
“We cannot confirm or deny a recall action before it has taken place,” Sarah Peddicord, an agency spokeswoman said. The FDA “will continue to take quick and appropriate action when needed to protect American consumers.”
I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel any better.
Metformin is NOT some out of the way drug – it was prescribed over 21 million times last year!
You probably don’t keep up on pharmaceutical news, but I do and this is the THIRD drug recall for the same reason in a year: both heart drugs (angiotensin II receptor blockers) and Zantac were pulled from shelves for toxic chemical adulteration.
Why is this happening?
The answer is simple: drugs companies are not happy with simply making billions of dollars… so they shipped the drug manufacturing process overseas (to China and India) in order to make even MORE money. But there’s a huge problem: those countries simply don’t have the same standards we do – so there is bound to be more contamination.
Though, it’s worth noting that the Senate Finance Committee is planning on holding hearings to double-check the FDA to make sure they are doing a splendid job.
Somehow, even that news doesn’t make me feel any better…
While this is all sickening, the even bigger crime is that blood sugar is much better managed by you and nature. So consider setting aside the drugs altogether and opt for natural options.
For example…
Dr. Scott’s Blood Sugar Fix:
Blood sugar is made worse by alcohol, high carbohydrate foods, soda, sugar drinks, and processed foods. Avoid these as much as possible.
- Maintain a Healthy Weight: This is easy to say, and harder to do. There is much you can do to help maintain a good weight including boosting your metabolism and increasing your muscle mass.
- Support Your Liver with Healthy Herbs: I like milk thistle, dandelion, and turmeric for liver support.
- Control Blood Sugar with Natural Remedies: Try berberine, curcumin, and chromium to help keep blood sugar under control.
