A new study, presented at the American Heart Association Conference, found that the more women ate after 6:00 PM, the worse their health.
In fact, they had:
- Poorer heart health
- Worse blood pressure
- Higher body weight
- And impaired long-term control of blood sugar.
This happens because eating late impacts your circadian rhythm – the 24-hour cycle that controls everything from when you feel sleepy, to when your immune cells are the most active.
Because of this cycle, we produce less saliva and stomach produces fewer digestive juices at night, making it more difficult for your body to process food properly.
And that’s why eating in a certain window is vital for your health. I recommend starting with a 12-hour window like 7 AM to 7 PM and then eventually working your way down to 8 hours.
Studies show that limiting your food intake to these hours can help STOP and even REVERSE diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
And if you’re looking to sink your blood sugar even lower, talk to your doc about supplements like berberine and cinnamon.
