The study, published in the Journal of Endocrine Connections, looked at the link between daily physical activity and a hormone – called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) – that helps cut your risk of diabetes.
This hormone inhibits appetite, stimulates the production of insulin, and helps lower blood sugar levels – all good news for someone wanting to avoid diabetes.
And getting the right amount of exercise to activate GLP-1 couldn’t be easier.
According to the research, it only takes 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise – like walking or swimming – per day to raiser your GLP-1 levels.
This means it only takes a few minutes a day to ward off one of the deadliest diseases around.
But that’s not all you can do.
Other ways to slash your risk of diabetes include cutting back on carbs, staying hydrated, and trying natural supplements like berberine and chromium.
