Drug-Free Solution STOPS Hip Pain
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
Hip pain is a real bummer.
Not only does it slow you down, but it can also get you on some dangerous drugs.
I’m talking about cortisone injections that aren’t just extremely painful but can also weaken your immune system, pack on the pounds and send your blood pressure into the stratosphere.
But it looks like that may all be about to change.
You see, some Texas researchers have just discovered a 100 percent drug-free way relieve your hip pain.
And it works just as well as those agonizing injections, without any of the devastating side effects.
This miracle treatment is called dry needling, a technique that uses tiny needles to reach pressure points in the muscle (think acupuncture with different trigger points).
Dry needling has been shown to help with muscle pain in previous studies.
And that why these Texans decided to put it up against hip pain.
In the study, folks with hip pain were assigned to either a group that received cortisone shots or one that got dry needling treatments.
Before and after the six weeks of treatments, researchers measured pain and mobility levels for all of the participants.
After comparing the data, they made an amazing discovery….
The dry needling was just as effective as cortisone shots at relieving pain and increasing mobility in folks suffering from hip pain!
Experts believe dry needling is so effective because it helps relieve tension in certain muscles and tendons that can cause hip pain.
Afraid of needles?
Don’t be. The needles used for this technique are small and often way less painful than those used to give cortisone shots.
Many physical therapists offer dry needling services, or you can locate a provider by clicking here.
However, some states, including California, New York and Florida, have banned dry needling from being performed by a physical therapist. So if you live in one of those states, you’ll have to talk to your doc to find a provider.
