Food Industry’s Dirty Little Secret [REVEALED]
You know what they say the definition of madness is, right?
It’s doing the same exact thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Unfortunately, we’re locked into a similar loop with food manufacturers.
Only in this case, it’s a “belief” loop.
Every time they mess up, we believe the industry has FINALLY learned its lesson. We choose to think it will NOW to do the right thing. And we TRUST that the food it provides is safe and healthy.
But the fact is, none of that is true. And a disturbing new report reveals food manufacturers have hoodwinked us once again.
A new study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has revealed the food industry’s dirty little secret.
Researchers found that more than HALF of the food we buy (60 percent) contains unhealthy amounts of the following additives…
- preservatives
- sweeteners (artificial and natural)
- coloring agents
- flavorings
Even worse, the amount of junk they’re dumping into our food has INCREASED by 10 percent in the last 20 years.
And what do all those chemicals swirling around in our bloodstream do to us? Well, to be honest, no one knows EXACTLY.
Unfortunately, no one is closely studying what all these creepy compounds do when transferred from our food to our bodies. But we CAN make some educated guesses…
You see, a slew of studies in the last few years HAVE tied these ultra-processed, chemical-heavy foods to skyrocketing risks for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and dementia.
Let’s face it, the food industry’s goals are simple. They want to produce “foods” that can last on store shelves for a long time, taste great, and make them lots of money.
We then elect to look the other way and continue to eat them. So if you want to stop this chemical assault on your body, you must do it yourself.
Realistically, it’s nearly impossible to avoid ALL chemically-altered foods. But you can reduce your exposure to the ultra-processed stuff.
- Be strong at the store: If you don’t bring highly processed foods into your house, then you won’t be tempted by them.
- Balance: If you’re going to eat an ultra-processed food, make sure you also eat something fresh and raw to balance things out.
- Find alternatives: Eat foods that make you happy but are still healthy. Tasty treats like raw nuts, carrots, and apples fit the bill.
- Do a junk food fast: Try going a week without your favorite junk foods. You may even find it’s easy to give them up for good at the end of the fast.
- Focus on your health: Get a good night’s sleep (you’ll be less tempted to eat junk when you’re well-rested), exercise, and take steps to relieve stress.
- Supplement: Many food cravings are your body’s way of telling you that you need vitamins and minerals. Top things up with a good quality multivitamin to start.
P.S. Giving up an addiction to ultra-processed junk foods CAN be done when you know the RIGHT steps. Conquer those cravings with THESE SIX TIPS.
