Food Ingredient MAKING You Sick?! (Scary)

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Food safety regulations are a downright shame in this country,

Whether it’s overlooking an E. coli problem with romaine lettuce or letting ground-up glass end up in Hot Pockets, the sky’s the limit when it comes to Big Food’s incompetence.

Because the bottom line is, they don’t care about your health—they just want to make a buck.

And now we know their standards have sunk to an all-time low.

Researchers have discovered a “forever chemical” hiding in hundreds of popular foods… and it’s making you SICK.

In a new study, researchers found that a chemical – called tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ)  –could effectively DESTROY your immune systems.

And it’s found in over 1,250 processed foods, including Pop-Tarts, Cheez-Its, and other snacks.

TBHQ disrupts immune health in animal studies. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The way THBQ works is it begins to control the cytokines and chemokines that run your immune system response to threats. It essentially takes over.

Ultra-processed foods are foods that are processed multiple times. In fact, I have a hard time calling them foods.

Think of all the steps between the food as it was grown and how you eat it. It can be dried, crushed, roasted, boiled, frozen, pasteurized before sugar, preservatives, and additives are thrown in.

The “semi-food” is then extruded, stamped, baked, fried, and then bagged/boxed/canned before it goes in your mouth.

So why are they allowed to get away with it? The short answer is, the FDA lets companies decide whether or not their ingredients are safe.

And you can rest assured that these big companies will botch the results to skew in their favor.

Your only answer is to avoid ultra-processed foods when you can and make your immune system as strong as possible.

Let me show you how.

Dr. Scott’s Immune System Plan

  • Eat powerful plants – Garlic, onions, ginger, and spices such as oregano and turmeric can give your immune system the support it needs to kill invading bacteria.
  • Make sure you get enough vitamins – Vitamin D, vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin A all have immune-supporting properties.
  • Gut/Immune connection – Maybe you have heard how closely tied your immune system is to your gut. Improve your gut health by taking a probiotic every day.
  • Supercharge your immune system – Certain herbs, such as Goldenseal, echinacea, oregano oil, olive leaf extract all help to give your immune system the boost it needs to protect your body.

P.S. Need more reason to say goodbye to ultra-processed foods? Find out here about a SECOND dangerous chemical companies are using in their foods. And the FDA isn’t lifting a finger to stop it.
