Foolproof “Map” System DEFEATS IBD Pain
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
If you’ve been married a while, you’ve probably had the fight that all couples have over directions.
Your wife says to go one way, the map says to go another, and all the while you’re getting more and more lost.
And it can feel exactly the same when it comes to mainstream medicine.
They claim they have all the answers and that it’s THEIR way or the highway.
But if you suffer from a complicated disease like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), you know that the path to healing is as winding and confusing as a country road. And that all of these mainstream “treatments” just lead to worse symptoms, as well as side effects.
It’s time to strike out on your own path.
Because there’s a better way… a foolproof “map” system that can DEFEAT your worst IBD pain.

The answer you’re looking for is the FODMAP diet.
FODMAP sounds strange, but it just stands for “fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols.”
That probably doesn’t sound much clearer. Let’s break it down.
FODMAPs are short-chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine. If you can’t absorb FODMAP molecules, they tend to absorb water and ferment in the colon.
Both are trouble: when FODMAP molecules absorb water, this leads to more loose stools and diarrhea.
But fermentation is the REAL source of your tummy troubles. Fermentation is really just bacteria growing and multiplying. But growing and multiplying bacteria produce chemicals as they grow.
And before you know it, those chemicals are irritating the lining of the gut, leading to MORE loose stools, blood, and diarrhea, as well as gas.
Now there’s a solution.
Researchers conducted an extensive survey of studies and found that following a FODMAP diet improved inflammatory bowel disease symptoms in 86 percent of patients!
And even better, they got lasting relief in just SIX WEEKS.
Should you try it?
A FODMAP diet removes all of the following:
- Dairy products like milk, yogurt, and ice cream
- Wheat and grain-based products such as cereal, bread, and crackers
- Beans and lentils
- Some vegetables, such as artichokes, asparagus, onions and garlic
- Some fruits, such as apples, cherries, pears and peaches
It can be difficult, but if you suffer from digestive complaints, I’ve seen it work miracles. And anything that provides relief from the miserable symptoms of IBD is worth it in my book.
