“Forbidden” Milk May Help Stop Strokes
Can we have a moment of honesty about skim milk?
It tastes terrible.
It’s like white water — and I guess you can get used to it, but why should you?
We’ve always been told that skim milk is healthier, and that we’ll all live longer if we drink it.
But what if that’s not true?
New research unlocks a powerful new secret to protecting our brains from strokes.
And it involves the full-fat dairy that the health police have been “forbidding” for decades.
If you’re a regular drinker of low-fat or skim milk, you might want to rethink your choice.
Especially if you’re serious about protecting your brain.
A major study of more than 418,329 people, published in the European Heart Journal, suggested that consuming more whole milk, cheese, and yogurt can cut the risk of the most common type of stroke.
In fact, for every extra glass of milk people in the study drank each day, the risk of ischemic stroke (when a blood clot blocks blood flow in the brain) fell by 5 percent. And the risk for stroke dropped by 9 percent by adding in a tiny bit of yogurt each day.
What’s going on?
Far from being bad for us, our bodies need fat to function properly. And that’s especially true when it comes to our brains.
Whole dairy foods also work to keep our blood sugar balanced – which also reduces the risks of stroke and heart disease.
I’ve been saying for years that the so-called “health police” are dead wrong about fats.
They’ve convinced millions of Americans that fat makes you fat and sends your risk of heart disease and stroke through the roof.
That’s not true — and it’s never been true.
So go ahead and load up on the full-fat dairy, and other healthy fats like meat and fish.
You don’t ever have to drink that skim “white water” again… unless you like the taste.
And I’m betting you don’t
