“Fountain of Youth” Discovery REWINDS Age!
Forget those old fountain of youth fantasies.
I’ve got something FAR better.
It turns out the REAL secret to fighting aging is found on your dinner plate!
A groundbreaking new study from Israel reveals the precise foods you should focus on to rewind the hands of time.
You can’t change your chronological age, of course. But you CAN affect something even MORE important.
Scientists call it your mAGE… and it turns out it’s what truly matters.
New research reveals that a diet I’ve sung the praises of many times before here in Living Well Daily could be the key to slowing biological aging to a crawl.
As I’m sure you know, the Mediterranean diet is packed with polyphenol-rich, fresh fruits and vegetables, green tea, and olive oil.
But according to the new study, this ALREADY powerful, age-fighting diet can be SUPERCHARGED with the addition of an aquatic green plant called Mankai.
If you’re a regular reader, you might recall me writing about this same plant this summer…
Its common name is duckweed. And if you’re a pond owner, you might recognize it as an unwelcome weed. But Mankai is actually a hidden superfood that’s PACKED with 200 kinds of anti-aging polyphenols.
We’ve known for a long time that polyphenols are healthy, of course. But we didn’t realize they could have such a powerful effect on biological age.
Researchers monitored 249 adult volunteers over six months and found that compared to the control group, those who followed this polyphenol-rich, Green Mediterranean diet had significant reductions in…
- blood pressure,
- cholesterol,
- blood sugar, and
- other age-related health markers.
Even more astoundingly, the Mediterranean dieters had LONGER telomeres!
You might recall those are the little “caps” that sit on the ends of your chromosomes and act as an indicator of biological age. As we age, our telomeres shorten.
So, this new research suggests that the folks eating the polyphenol-packed diet had their biological clocks REWOUND!
It turns out the polyphenols are linked to DNA methylation, a molecular change that’s associated with slower cellular and tissue aging.
Specifically, participants who closely followed the polyphenol-rich Green Mediterranean diet showed an 18-month reduction in their “methylation age” or mAge, a marker of their biological age.
The trial provides the first concrete evidence that loading up on these potent compounds can decelerate biological aging at a core cellular level, essentially turning back the hands of time.
It’s more proof that a wholesome Mediterranean-style diet could be the ACTUAL fountain of youth we’ve been searching for!
To incorporate the diet into your own life, focus on eating whole, minimally processed foods, including plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, beans, nuts, seeds, cold-water fish, seafood, eggs, dairy, and olive oil.
Eat modest amounts of organic red meat and poultry. And use herbs and spices abundantly.
Want to supercharge your Mediterranean lifestyle? Polyphenol-packed duckweed is available as a powder or tincture.
Or, better yet, search for “Mankai duckweed” online to find it frozen… which I think would be perfect in healthy smoothies.
Users describe duckweed as having a mild, earthy, grassy flavor that reminds them of spinach.
If you can’t find it or don’t like the taste, you can try other polyphenol-rich foods, including spinach, berries, artichokes, and dark cocoa.
P.S. “Slow Motion” aging secret REVEALED!
