Hidden Hormone Reduces COVID-19 Risk?

Despite all the movies like Terminatorcomputers will probably never be smarter than us humans.

But those computers sure can crunch data much better than we’d ever be able to!

And thanks to a bunch of researchers from The Cleveland Clinic, who published their work in the online journal PLOS Biology, number crunching might have found something that really helps COVID-19.

Researchers from the Cleveland Clinic fed their giant computer thousands of data points from patients hoping to find some drug that reduced the symptoms of COVID-19.

What they found was surprising and actually wasn’t a drug!

After analyzing a ton of patient data, they discovered that melatonin usage was associated with a nearly 30 percent REDUCED likelihood of testing positive for COVID-19.

The researchers are puzzled by this association because there’s no logical reason why melatonin has this effect. As of yet, they don’t quite understand how it works.

But that’s the benefit of Crunching Large Data: computers can find new connections that open whole new areas of research

But for what it’s worth, melatonin is a hormone that your body produces in response to darkness (at nighttime). It helps with your circadian rhythm (that 24-hour clock we all have inside our brains).

You can take melatonin as a supplement, which many people already do to help them sleep. Melatonin is especially popular among the older folks, because we produce less than when we were younger

Melatonin has been used for a long time to help people sleep, but it is also a powerful antioxidant, helps protect your brain, reduces inflammation, and helps your heart and digestive system.

Ultimately, it may just be that sleeping better is what makes people healthy. You may have heard me mentioned more than once that good sleep is of the more powerful things you can do for your health.

P.S. When it comes to giving yourself the advantage against the coronavirus – or any illness for that matter – your next best option is to boost your immune system. Learn about the secret immune booster that lives in your GUT and how you can use it to strengthen your body’s natural defense.
