IMPROVE Your Brain Health in 20 Minutes?
Dear Reader,
The fact of the matter is, getting older is tough on your whole body.
Your joints… your heart… and even your good looks all take a plunge with every passing year.
But, the worst part by far about aging is that it takes its biggest toll on your brain.
Because as you age, you lose brain cells… and eventually, your brain will begin to shrink.
Fortunately, research shows that the BEST way to keep a sharp, healthy brain couldn’t be easier.
And in just 20 minutes, it could make your brain years younger!
Now, you probably don’t need me to tell you that exercise is good for you.
We’ve known for years that getting up and moving can keep your heart healthy, preserve your independence, and even keep your mood in check.
And now there’s proof that it can save your brain too!
A new study, published in the journal, Neurology, found that exercise can turn back the clock on aging brains.
The research team had participants exercise for six months and then gathered data on their brains.
Researchers saw higher scores on participants’ thinking and memory tests at the end of the study. Tests of executive function increased 5.7 percent; verbal fluency increased by 2.4 percent!
So what about exercise is so great for your brain?
Well, the scientists found that peak blood flow to the participants’ brains increased 2.8 percent. More blood flow means more oxygen, nutrients as well as increased brain cleaning. All of which boost your brain health.
The participants in the study started out exercising for an average of 20 minutes a day and by the end of the study they’re exercising around 40 minutes.
This this study tended to focus on vigorous exercise (where your heart is beating hard).
But here’s the thing: you don’t have to work that hard to get these results!
Just getting out and doing ANY exercise will help you. Try gardening, golfing, walking… all exercise leads to higher life expectancy and a healthier brain.
AND, if you don’t currently exercise, make sure you make a slow transition.
Of course, if you really want to take care of your brain you should eat better, lose weight, manage your blood pressure, reduce the amount of sugars you eat, get enough sleep, and take the right supplements.
