Independent Lab Reveals DISTURBING Toothpaste Truth

New, independent testing is exposing some truths about toothpaste.

And what it reveals is downright shocking…

It turns out that every time you brush your teeth, you could be exposing yourself to dangerous toxins.

Testing conducted by Lead Safe Mama (LSM), a leading advocate for lead poisoning prevention, revealed that our toothpaste may be contaminated with lead and other hazardous heavy metals.

If you’re thinking, “Great, one more thing to worry about,” I understand. But this is one health alert you can’t afford to ignore…

Using an independent, third-party lab, LSM found that out of 51 brands …

  • 90 percent contained lead
  • 65 percent contained arsenic
  • just under half contained mercury
  • one-third contained cadmium

Many brands contain multiple toxins.

Even more disturbing? This contamination wasn’t limited to cheap, generic brands. Children’s toothpastes and those marketed as green or natural were just as likely to contain these dangerous substances.

The culprits appear to be certain common ingredients in toothpaste, including hydroxyapatite, calcium carbonate, and bentonite clay. These components are often sourced from natural deposits and can contain heavy metal contaminants.

While we often hear about lead being hazardous for children’s developing brains, that doesn’t mean it’s harmless for adults.

Lead exposure at any age can contribute to high blood pressure, kidney damage, and cognitive decline. For seniors, these health impacts can be particularly  concerning when combined with age-related conditions.

The other heavy metals found in toothpaste—arsenic, mercury, and cadmium—are equally troubling. These toxins can accumulate in your body over time and contribute to a host of health issues, from cardiovascular disease to neurological problems.

So, what can you do to protect yourself?

Here are some simple alternatives to commercial toothpaste that can keep your teeth clean without the toxic baggage:

  • Baking soda: One of the simplest alternatives to toothpaste is plain baking soda. Simply dip a wet toothbrush in baking soda and brush as usual. It’s mildly abrasive for removing stuck-on foods, helps neutralize acids in the mouth, and has antibacterial properties.
  • Homemade tooth powder: Mix two tablespoons baking soda, one tablespoon finely ground sea salt, and a few drops of food-grade peppermint essential oil. Store in a jar and use a small amount on a wet toothbrush.
  • Salt and water rinse: In a pinch, brushing with a saltwater solution can help kill bacteria and freshen your breath.
  • Hydrogen peroxide rinse: A diluted hydrogen peroxide solution (one-part three percent hydrogen peroxide to two parts water) can be used as an occasional mouth rinse to kill bacteria.

Don’t forget to thoroughly rinse your mouth out after brushing.

Remember, oral health is crucial for overall health and well-being, especially as we age—so keep brushing no matter what.

P.S. How your morning tea pulls DOUBLE DUTY as a heavy metal detox.
