[LADIES] Toxic “Forever Chemicals” LURKING in Your Home!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are meant to protect us…

But anyone who reads Living Well Daily gets a clear view of what they ACTUALLY do…

A lot of it involves looking the other way where money is involved.

That’s why this shocking new study out of the University of Notre Dame is so important.

Researchers found that many women are being poisoned every day by something considered “safe”… and it’s all thanks to these toxic “forever chemicals” LURKING in your home!

*****

I’m talking about cosmetics.

According to a new study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology Letters, more than halfof the cosmetics sold in the U.S. and Canada contain high levels of toxic industrial compounds.

The research team tested more than 230 commonly-used cosmetics and found that 56 percent of foundations and eye products, 48 percent of lip products, and 47 percent of mascaras contained high levels of fluorine.

Some of the highest levels were found in waterproof mascara (82 percent) and long-lasting lipstick (62 percent).

Fluorine is a toxic chemical by itself, but it’s also an indicator of chemicals called perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

PFAS have been called “forever chemicals” because they never degrade. When PFAS get into your bloodstream, they stay there and accumulate over time.

Which means, as you age, the levels of PFAS build and build… but never go away.

Public health studies on people exposed to PFAS have associated the chemicals with an array of health problems, including some cancers, weakened immunity, and low birth weight.

There’s a lot you can do to stay safe by simply searching for healthy alternatives to cosmetics (many people make their own).

There are also cleaner brands out there that you can get by going to a health food store.

A great place to start is the Environmental Working Group’s searchable cosmetics database here online. You can search for any brand or cosmetic to see what’s truly hiding behind the label.
