“Light Trick” STOPS Migraines?

Dear Reader,

If you’ve ever had a migraine, you already know that they are anything but a normal headache.

The throbbing pain… the blurred vision… and the extreme light and sound sensitivity can keep you in bed, hiding from noise and light for hours.

And unfortunately, your mainstream doc is not any help. They’ll just suggest dangerous drugs… or even Botox!

But you don’t have to take those drugs to get the relief you deserve.

Because a new breakthrough has found an incredibly safe and easy way to put an end to your migraine suffering.

Anyone who has suffered from a migraine knows that there’s a connection between migraine and lights.

Migraines are often accompanied by severe light sensitivity (known as photophobia) and that’s why people who have migraines pull blankets over their head and seek out a darkened room.

So, you might think light therapy would be the last thing you would want to try. But recent research suggests that green light therapy involving a specific wavelength of green light can help reduce the intensity of migraine attacks.

Light (if you remember high school physics class) is made up of many different colored wavelengths.

Every type of light generates electrical signals in the retina found in the back of your eye. These signals are then transferred to the cortex region of your brain.

Studies have shown that red and blue light wavelengths generate the largest brain signals and green light the smallest. A 2016 study found that green light was less likely to worsen migraine attacks than white, blue, amber, or red. Twenty percent of the participants in the study reported the green light REDUCED migraine pain.

The green light involves a specific narrow band of green light from a special lamp.

This led to a 2017 study using rats with neuropathic pain (nerve pain). The researchers in this study were able to measure decreases in pain perception in the mice that lasted over four days after being exposed to green light therapy.

And now, there is currently a small randomized clinical trial for people with fibromyalgia and migraine pain using a green light strip at home every day for 10 weeks. I’ll be keeping an eye on this…  stay tuned.

In the meantime, for migraine relief, consider taking a magnesium or B-Complex supplement as this can help with your discomfort. Make sure you get plenty of rest and drink an adequate amount of water as dehydration can worsen migraines
