Mainstream Drug Could LEAD to a Stroke?!
If you’re anything like me, you’d do just about everything in your power not to have a heart attack or stroke
That’s why you take your daily walk… eat lots of fresh produce… and try to get 8 hours of sleep every night.
But if you’re taking a certain medication… all of this effort might be for NOTHING!
Because new research shows that one of the most widely-prescribed drugs in the world can put you on the fast track to some SERIOUS heart problems.
And you might be taking it right now.
I’m talking about antibiotics. Many docs hand them out like candy…a move that’s downright dangerous.
Tons of research shows that the over-prescribing of these drugs can lead to deadly infections… painful stomach issues… and even blood sugar problems.
Now we know they can really mess up your heart, too.
In a new study, researchers analyzed the health records of more than 35,000 women and split them into three groups by antibiotic use.
The first group took antibiotics for less than 15 days over their lifetime. The next took them from 15 days to 60 days, and the last were women who took them for longer than two months
After adjusting for cofactors – like lifestyle, obesity, and other diseases – the researchers found that women who use antibiotics for more than 2 months were 32 percent more likely to suffer from heart disease and stroke.
32 percent?! That’s practically a third! Just imagine what that could mean for your future… and independence.
Antibiotics are so bad for your heart because they destroy your microbiome (that collection of healthy bacteria in your gut), which leads to increased inflammation.
And the more inflammation you have in your body, the HIGHER your risk of heart attack and stroke.
If you’ve taken a long course of antibiotics in your past, there are two things you should do right now to reverse the damage.
The first is to get your microbiome in shape by taking good probiotics and eating fermented foods.
The second is to always ask your doc why he’s prescribing an antibiotic before agreeing to take it.
If it’s for a viral infection or “just preventative”, there’s a good chance it won’t improve your health… and could take a toll on your heart.
