[Men] Could Your Workout KILL You!?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Studies sometimes surprise even me.

I’ve known for a long time that exercise is good for many conditions, including diabetes.

But I never would’ve never guessed that a particular workout could be bad for people with diabetes… especially men.

Yet, a new study has uncovered something alarming.

Working out at this time could put you in danger… and in some cases, even kill you.

I’m talking about exercising in the morning.

A recent study published in the journal Diabetes Care found that men with diabetes who exercised in the morning have a greater risk of suffering a heart attack.

The study followed overweight people with diabetes for almost twenty years. To get the best idea of the participants’ activity, the researchers had them wear a device called an accelerometer that measured when and how much they exercised for a week.

The research team found that the men who exercised in the morning had the highest risk of developing coronary heart disease – whether they exercised a little or a lot. Strangely enough, the researchers didn’t find the same association with women.

It’s important to remember that this is just one study, and there needs to be further research. The researchers were unable to pinpoint WHY timing mattered so much when it came to heart disease… just that afternoon exercisers seemed to be healthier.

But if your choice is between exercising in the morning or NOT exercising at all, I’d much rather have you exercising in the morning. Many folks may have time first thing in the morning, but don’t have much spare time the rest of the day.

And take it from me – some exercise is always better than none at all.

P.S. If you live with diabetes, you HAVE to hear about this “LG” secret.
