Non-Invasive Arthritis Treatment MORE Effective Than Injections

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Watch TV for more than a few minutes, and I guarantee you’ll be bombarded with tons of drug commercials.

These ads promise a “cure” from whatever ails you, claiming nothing but relief, happiness and butterflies ahead!

There are MANY problems with mainstream drug commercials, but one of the biggest is that focusing on these “solutions” means we ignore more effective (and less harmful) treatments.

Nowhere is this truer than when dealing with arthritis… and a recent study really showcases it.

This non-invasive arthritis treatment could be MORE effective than the injections mainstream medicine advocates.

And it might just surprise you.

If you head to your mainstream doc’s office complaining of joint pain, you’re probably going to walk out with one of two things: a steroid shot in your joint or a prescription for anti-inflammatories.

The list of potential problems with both of those treatments could fill a textbook, so I won’t bother with it here. It’s enough to know that long-term use of anti-inflammatories sends thousands of people to the emergency room each year, and steroid injections destroy joint tissue, leading to more pain.

The problem with both drugs is that they’ve been tested in clinical trials, but the studies have only been short-term.

So, what happens when you take a longer view and include a non-drug solution?

That is exactly what a group of researchers recently did when they compared physical therapy to a quick steroid shot in the doctor’s office.

The study followed 156 arthritis patients for one year. The patients received either steroid injections or physical therapy as their treatment.

Their study found that physical therapy provided relief of pain for much longer than steroid injections.

Not only that, four patients in the steroid group required surgery, yet no one in the physical therapy group did.

The problem with physical therapy is that it costs more than a shot, and some insurance companies don’t cover it. Getting to the physical therapy office can also be a hassle for some folks, especially if you’re in pain.

But the results speak for themselves: people are in less pain when they go to a physical therapist.

So before you head for an injection or an anti-inflammatory drug, have an honest conversation about your options. Your joints will thank you.

P.S. A study pinpointed a mainstream medication that could give you arthritis… and you won’t believe what it is. Click here to find out more.
