Outsmart Damaging “Zombie Cells” (4-Step Protocol)

Everyone gets a bit grouchy at times. I know I sure as heck do.

But even on your worst curmudgeon days, your grumpiness pales in comparison to the bad attitude of a certain aging cell hiding out in your body right now.

They’re often referred to as “zombies.” But their technical name is senescent cells.

And these belligerent little building blocks are at the heart of aging.

Senescent cells are linked to Alzheimer’s, cancer, osteoporosis, muscle weakness, nerve disease, heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. In other words, the diseases… and indignities… of aging.

But recent research reveals how scientists plan to beat them at their own grumpy game…

You see, generally, our cells live their lives carrying out their assigned tasks and happily dividing to make fresh new cells when needed—until one day, they get the signal they’re no longer useful.

When that happens, they shut down, close up shop, and head off to retirement in the afterlife.

But senescent cells are grouchy oldsters who have zero intention of cooperating. They’ve stopped dividing to make new cells, and yet they refuse to listen to the signal from your immune system telling them it’s time to die.

Instead, they hang around loitering in your tissues, taking up space. They’re not really dead, but they’re not alive either. Most importantly, they’re not doing anything useful. In fact, they do the opposite. They cause harm.

However, a study published in the journal Scientific Reports uncovered a potential way to target AND remove zombie cells.

The researchers are creating a series of antibodies that seek out and attach to senescent cells.

Antibodies are part of your immune system. Their job is to attach to foreign invaders, like bacteria and viruses, and flag them as something bad. If they’ve done their job, this attracts other parts of the immune system, like white blood cells, which can DESTROY the bacteria or virus.

The researchers believe they can “program” antibodies to hunt senescent cells and block the development of heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and other diseases of aging.

Only time will tell if they’re successful. But in my book, this is an area we should tread lightly.

Messing with antibodies can be dangerous. After all, we’ve seen how treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation – which are supposed to only clear out cancer cells – kill off healthy ones, too.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t fight back against these grouchy squatters. In fact, there’s plenty you can do to purge senescent cells using my four-step anti-aging protocol…

  • Fasting: A fast lasting as little as 24 hours can supercharge the removal of senescent cells. When you remove food, your body kickstarts a process called autophagy, which begins to clean out dead and “zombie” cells.
  • Exercise: One of the best ways to mimic the benefits of fasting is to exercise. This works exceptionally well if you do it before you eat anything in the morning. Find something active you love to do, like walking, biking, swimming, golf, or tennis, and do it often.
  • Antioxidants: Pack your diet with plenty of antioxidant-rich, colorful fruits and veggies. Studies show antioxidants inhibit cell senescence. If you don’t eat enough produce, make sure you supplement. I like to use a superfood blend I mix into my food daily.
  • Resveratrol: This potent grape extract mimics fasting. Make sure you get a good quality supplement that’s highly concentrated.

P.S. “Cold Nose” method protects your aging brain.
