Packaged Food Threat INCREASES Mortality Risk 50%!

Dear Reader,

Did you find yourself stocking up on canned foods and bottled water during the pandemic?

While stocking up may certainly be a good idea – because let’s be honest, no one knows if or when things could shut down again (no one is going to forget the rush on toilet paper any time soon!).

In fact, you may just keep packaged food and water on hand anyway, especially in case of an emergency.

The problem? There’s a hidden danger lurking in these foods that you may not even know about.

You may have heard of Bisphenol A (or BPA) or even seen the label “BPA Free” on products sitting on the shelves. (To find out which foods are the safest, and which are more dangerous when it comes to BPA, read my article here.)

BPA and phthalates (similar chemicals) are called the “everywhere chemicals” because they’re found in SO MANY products… from water bottles, plastic food containers, nail polish, kids toys, canned foods (which are lined with an BPA resin coating), hair spray, even vinyl flooring.

It is hard to avoid BPA.

This is a problem because BPA is an endocrine disruptor – which means it affects the hormones in your body.

BPA is bad for everyone, but it’s especially dangerous for babies and fetuses (that is why you see “BPA Free” baby bottles).

That hormone disruption increases obesitydiabetesheart disease, and cancers.

Our US Food and Drug administration claims BPA is recognized as safe, but, like many things, don’t be quick to take their word for it.

A new study, published in the Journal JAMA Network Open, found that people who have higher levels of BPA in the urine we’re almost 50 percent more likely to die in a 10-year period (because of the increase in heart disease, diabetes, and other diseases).

So, how can you reduce your exposure?

Avoid plastics as much as you can. Store your food glass containers and drink out of glass bottles.  Do not microwave food in plastic containers and choose fresh or frozen foods whenever you can. Avoid harsh detergents or washing anything plastic in the dishwasher.

Researchers have discovered chemicals they say can replace BPA, but those chemicals aren’t any better – they still cause health problems.

It’s hard to avoid cans and plastic bottles as they are the best way to store some foods, just make sure that you are not exposing yourself daily.

P.S. BPA is a secret, dangerous chemical that’s been lurking in our products for some time. To learn which products are safer and which will land you in the danger zone, check out this article, to get all the info.
