Popular Sweetener Causing CANCER?!?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I have studied nutrition almost all my life… but with my own family, I tried not to be a tyrant about it.

You’d even find some chips and ice cream in my house – but I always taught my kids about the importance of moderation and making good choices.

But there is one ingredient I will not allow in my house and will not let pass the lips of the people I love – ever.

I’m talking about ANY artificial sweeteners. And I’m glad I began enforcing that ban long ago.

Because it looks like one of the most popular sweeteners around could put you on the fast track to cancer.

And the sooner you get it out of your life, the better.

The history of artificial sweeteners is crazy — almost every one has been discovered by accident.

Some scientists accidently spill a chemical on their hands. Later, they wipe their mouths and are surprised by the sweet taste.

Their next thought: Oh, great! Let’s put this in food!

…all without testing to see if it is safe.

…and the FDA just lets them.

I was reminded, once again, what a bad idea artificial sweeteners are when a study on Splenda (sucralose) crossed my desk.

Research from the Ramazzini Institute in Italy discovered that Splenda increased leukemia in people who consumed a lot of it – which is easy because it is found in over 4,000 different products.

This study caused the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) to downgrade Splenda from its “safe” category to one of “caution.”

But “caution” is not enough for a substance that other studies have shown to:

  • Destroy gut bacteria – and you probably know how important our gut bacteria are for health.
  • Have direct toxic effects on nerves – including brain tissue.
  • Increase blood sugar, messes up your metabolism, and leads to weight gain.

These studies should cause you to join me by banning Splenda (and other artificial sweeteners) from your house.

But remember if you want to avoid Splenda, it is found in more than 4,000 different products.

Read your labels!

The take-home from this is simple: Stop putting substances not found in nature in your body.

By the time we understand the risks, it’s usually too late.

Health and Happiness,
