Protein WARS: The FINAL Answer on Animal vs. Plant
For years, the “protein war” has raged on.
People want to know if animal or plant protein is better for reaching their health and fitness goals.
And to say there are some very strong opinions on BOTH sides is putting it mildly.
So, let’s answer the question once and for all…
Many of us have ALREADY chosen sides in this war, stocking up on chicken breasts or blocks of tofu OR whey powder or pea protein.
Some nutritionists claim a protein is a protein, no matter the source.
However, new research suggests the source matters A LOT when it comes to protein’s effects on…
- health,
- muscle building, and
- longevity
The winner?
Animal sources—by a mile!
You see, eating the same amount of animal or plant-based foods results in DIFFERENT amounts of essential amino acids (EAAs) being available for your body to use.
Animal-based foods have more bioavailable EAAs than the same amount of protein from plant-based sources.
The reasons for this are complex and have to do with the structure of plants versus meats.
However, it boils down our bodies having an easier time breaking down meat and extracting these vital nutrients than with plants.
Plus, most meats also have a far WIDER range of amino acids than plant sources.
Does this mean you should avoid plant-based proteins? No, not at all!
But it does mean you should focus on getting animal proteins first.
P.S. “Slow Motion” aging secret REVEALED!
