Put a Stop to Heart Disease [Here’s How]

Dear Reader,

As you age, taking better care of your heart become a priority.

That’s why you eat right… exercise when you can… and never skip your omega-3 supplements.

But as it turns out, there’s something else you should be doing.

Because researchers from the University of Colorado have just discovered the BEST way to STOP heart disease!

And you won’t believe what it is.

For years, researchers have known that your gut health can affect your brain, blood sugar, and even your weight.

Now, research shows that age-related changes in your gut bacteria can impact your heart health, too.

For the study, published in the Journal of Physiology, researchers killed the gut bacteria of young and old mice with antibiotics.

Next, they assessed their vein and artery health and checked their blood levels for inflammatory compounds, tissue-damaging free-radicals, antioxidants and the blood-vessel-expanding compound nitric oxide in both groups.

After the end, the young mice saw no changes in their heart health.

But the old mice experienced significant improvements on all measures.

After further research, the scientists found that the older mice had high levels of inflammatory gut bacteria.

In fact, the aged mice had THREE TIMES as much TMAO (trimethylamine N-oxide) – a chemical linked to hardened arteries, heart attack, and stroke – as the younger mice.

So, by killing these disease-causing bacteria, the scientists were able to improve the heart health of the older mice.

This backs up previous research that shows aging gut bacteria (or microbiome) maybe one of the key factors for developing heart disease in seniors.

Now, this doesn’t mean you should try to wipe out your entire microbiome with antibiotics. We all know that can these drugs can lead to serious health issues.

Instead, you should try to diversify the bacteria in your stomach.

And doing that couldn’t be easier.

Dr. Scott’s Healthy Microbiome Plan:

  • Start with food. Eat a low-sugar, non-processed food diet (this will also help with your weight-loss efforts).
  • Eat as much fiber as you can (I prefer fiber coming from vegetables whenever possible). Fiber helps support healthy microbiome communities.
  • Eat fermented foods. My favorite fermented foods are sauerkraut, miso, and yogurt – these all contain healthy bacteria you need.
  • Take a probiotic. The only way to make sure you are getting enough healthy bacteria is to supplement.

P.S. If you’re ready to continue lowering your risk of heart disease then you’re going to want to read about this “sunset solution” that can SLASH your risk of heart disease. Go here to read all about it.
