The Over-The-Counter Remedy That DOESN’T Spell Relief!

I don’t just understand mainstream docs… or the treatments they recommend.

This is especially true when it comes to one stomach medication in particular.

In fact, this “go-to” is at the TOP of my “worst drugs to take” list.

And it seems—finally—I’m not alone.

Because a new study shows the true damage this medication can do.

And it’s nothing to mess around with.

I’m talking about Proton Pump Inhibitors or PPIs like Prilosec, Prevacid, and Zantac.

No doubt you’ve seen them at your local pharmacy and even at the grocery store.

And if you’ve ever experienced heartburn or acid reflux you already know how easy it is to reach for one of these in the hope of ending your misery.

But these drugs are NOT safe.

A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that for every 153 people taking PPIs, one will have serious diarrhea.

There’s one thing you need to know about that 1 in every 153 number…  many people don’t report diarrhea to their doctors, which means the numbers could be even higher.

But there’s more.

When scientists crunched the numbers, they found that those with the worst symptoms frequently were those 45 and older.

These drugs work to block hydrochloric acid production in your stomach. That is a bad idea because you NEED stomach acid to digest food… and to help destroy harmful bugs.

This is especially true for hardy bacteria like Clostridium difficile or C. diff that’s been running rampant through hospitals.

Even worse? PPI use can lead to weak bones, fractures, vitamin B12 deficiency, kidney disease, and now more diarrhea.

Here’s what you can do instead of dangerous acid blockers:

  • First, talk to your doc and see if acid blockers are treating the root problem or if they’re causing it.
  • Next, start taking a quality probiotic. Probiotics strengthen the healthy bacteria in your gut that fights to keep invaders out.
  • Finally, try natural heartburn and digestion relief supplements like peppermint and ginger. Both are time-honored and have even had multiple positive studies in recent years.
