Scientists Uncover Diet's Dark CANCER Link

Most folks know that a steady diet of junk food isn’t exactly good for you.

But the truth is, a poor diet ALSO sends your cancer risk soaring.

And oddly, we’ve never been entirely certain as to WHY.

Sure, a junk-food-heavy diet is unhealthy, packs on the pounds, and raises the risk for various diseases, from obesity to diabetes.

However, even scientists have found it a bit of a mystery why our cancer risk specifically shoots up so high.

But new research has FINALLY cracked the case…

A new study has revealed just how dangerous a poor diet can be, and it’s time we paid closer attention.

Here’s the deal. Researchers discovered that a chemical called methylglyoxal—which is ALREADY linked to poor diet and uncontrolled diabetes—is the likely culprit behind this rising cancer risk.

Our cells produce methylglyoxal when they break down sugar for energy, and it can really mess with our DNA.

Researchers found that this nasty chemical can cause faults in our DNA that are like big, flashing warning signs signaling that, if we don’t change our ways, cancer could soon hunt us down.

The study focused on patients with a faulty copy of the BRCA2 cancer gene. People with this gene mutation are at a higher risk for certain cancers to start with.

However, study participants with the broken BRCA2 gene were super sensitive to methylglyoxal’s effects. But it gets worse.

The research suggests that folks with higher than average methylglyoxal levels (like junk-food fiends and those who are pre-diabetic or diabetic) who DON’T inherit a faulty BRCA2 gene are ALSO at risk.

In fact, they have similar warning signs indicating a HIGHER risk of developing cancer.

Clearly, our bodies are trying to warn us, but we’re just not listening.

And let’s be honest. The way many of us eat, we’re practically handing methylglyoxal an invitation to come on in and wreak havoc.

Methylglyoxal levels can be easily checked with a simple blood test for HbA1C. You can ask your doctor about it, but don’t be surprised if he isn’t aware of the test. Unfortunately, it’s not commonly used yet.

But the good news is that you don’t have to wait for the test to become more widely available. You can take action RIGHT NOW to start dialing down your methylglyoxal levels.

And that, of course, is to start making better choices about what you put into your body.

We’ve known about this link for too long to keep ignoring it. It’s time to dump the junk food, step away from sugary drinks, and start prioritizing your health.

Focus on eating whole, minimally processed foods, including plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, beans, nuts, seeds, cold-water fish, seafood, eggs, dairy, organic red meats and poultry, and olive oil.

It’s not always easy to make healthy choices, especially in a world filled with tempting treats and convenient, fast foods. But when it comes down to it, you have the power to control your diet and, in turn, your cancer risk.
