Secret Disease Could Leave You BLIND!
Time for a quick quiz?
Can you guess the leading cause of blindness in seniors?
It is not cataracts.
It is not glaucoma.
It’s macular degeneration.
Macular degeneration is a serious eye disease that can progress slowly, secretly, and without warning.
And you may not know you have it until it’s too late.
But the good news is that macular degeneration is completely preventable.
All you have to do is follow my simple plan…
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in America for people over 50 years old.
It is a slowly progressive and painless disease that occurs when the macula (the main, central portion of the retina) deteriorates.
Risk factors for AMD include:
- 50 years old, or older
- Smoking
- Obesity
- High blood pressure
- Caucasian
Currently, macular degeneration is untreatable (once you lose it, you cannot get it back.).
And most people don’t notice they have macular degeneration until it has progressed.
But here is the thing.
You CAN stop macular degeneration from developing.
Dr. Scott’s Pathway to Perfect Eye Health:
- Sunglasses keep harmful ultraviolet rays off your eyes: IF THEY ARE GOOD SUNGLASSES. Cheap sunglasses increase damage to the eye by opening the iris – which allows much more damaging light into the back of the eye (macula). Look for sunglasses that block out 99% to 100% of both UV-A and UV-B radiation.
- Blood sugar is one of the chief drivers of eye problems. Sugar binds permanently with proteins in the eye–causing them to become cloudy. Keep your blood sugar low by taking supplements like berberine to balance blood sugar and by eating well.
- Lutein and zeaxanthin are important pigments that support the health of the macula. It is very hard to get any amount of these nutrients through you diet, so I always recommend a supplement.
