[SENIORS] New Aspirin WARNING

I know that advertising works. But I’m often surprised at just how well it does the job.

Take, for example, the late 90s advertising campaigns by Bayer pushing a daily aspirin for heart attack prevention.

The ads haven’t been on the air or in print for over 20 YEARS now.

In fact, in early 2000, the US Federal Trade Commission and the US Department of Justice called the drug company’s aggressive aspirin marketing campaigns misleading. And they said they may even lead to medical complications in uneducated consumers.

The scientific consensus is CLEAR. MOST people shouldn’t be taking aspirin daily.

And yet I can’t tell you how often folks STILL ask me if they should be taking a daily dose of the stuff. Or even worse, INSIST a daily aspirin will prevent a heart attack!

Not only are they flat-out wrong. We now have even further evidence of the DANGER of this practice.

There’s ZERO evidence that a daily aspirin prevents anything.

But thanks to new research, we now have a new WARNING to add to the list.

A recent study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine took a deeper dive into the data collected from an earlier aspirin study.

The earlier trial explored the drug’s effects on all-cause mortality in healthy seniors. Once again, the study confirmed that aspirin did NOTHING to prevent heart attacks.

But when the new team of researchers re-crunched the numbers on the risks of taking daily, low-dose aspirin, a NEW threat emerged from the data.

The team found a disturbing 20 percent increased risk for anemia.

Anemia causes the number of red blood cells or the amount of hemoglobin (the protein that carries oxygen) in the red blood cells to DROP.

While the study doesn’t address the cause directly, the probable reason for the anemia is bleeding.

You see, aspirin is a blood thinner, so it increases bleeding risk.

That means with regular use, you can develop frequent nosebleeds and bruising. But far worse is that aspirin could cause stomach bleeding every time you take it.

It’s this loss of blood that causes anemia.

There are many other natural, risk-free ways to care for your heart health. I collected a few of the best below.

When you do these, you’ll be slashing your risk of heart disease and the heart attacks that can occur as a result.

  • Exercise: Exercise slashes inflammation and is great for heart (and brain) health. But you don’t have to transform into a gym rat to see results. Just move your body enough to raise your heartbeat for around 20 minutes daily. A brisk walk, swimming some lap, or even dancing around the dining room table will do the trick.
  • Eat Colorful Foods: Add more healthy, colorful vegetables to your diet. If you fall short, you can get extra veggie benefits from a powdered superfood supplement. Every day I mix one into yogurt and toss in some berries for a quick, delicious, heart-healthy breakfast.
  • Avoid Vegetable Oils: Vegetable oils are like setting off tiny inflammation-boosting bombs in your bloodstream. Vegetable oils are incredibly damaging and should be avoided like the plague. The easiest way to do this is to kick processed foods out of your diet. That means ditching anything in a box or from a fast-food restaurant. Cook with olive or avocado oil.
  • Fish Oil: One of the most powerful anti-inflammatories you can find in nature is fish oil. It’s also a natural anti-coagulant, which means it can help keep blood clots from forming (platelet aggregation), potentially reducing heart attack risk. But research shows that, unlike aspirin, the oil does not increase bleeding risk.
  • Curcumin: Curcumin is a turmeric extract that helps reduce inflammation.

Skip the daily aspirin and reduce your heart risks with these safe and effective remedies instead.
