The Summer Danger That’s TORCHING Your Health

Dear Reader, 

I’m a big fan of the sun when it comes to improving your health.  

While most health officials will tell you to stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen, I think a good healthy dose of sun goes a long way to keeping you healthy.   

Not only does the sun make Vitamin D when it hits our skin, it also produces nitric oxide – which sends LOWERS our blood pressure.   

But just because I consider the sun an essential nutrient, doesn’t mean you can’t overdo it. 

So what’s the difference between too much and just enough? 

You have to start by knowing the difference between sunburn and sun poisoning (because one is potentially dangerous).  

Sunburn means you’ve been out in the sun too long. A sunburn occurs when you cause damage to your skin Ultraviolet light from the sun’s rays cook your skin, causing redness and irritation 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionabout 1/3 of us get sunburn during the year.  

Sunburn can range the gamut from mild to major (lasting more than a week and having skin flake off).  

An occasional light sunburn is no more than an annoyance. However, it’s CONTINUED sunburns that you need to worry about. That’s because repeated sunburns increase your risk of developing skin cancer 

Now, beyond sunburn is sun poisoning. This happens when people are outside for too long, fall asleep in the sun, are drinking too much, and fail to notice the warning signs.  

The main difference between sunburn and sun poising is your sun over exposure has caused what looks like an allergic reaction in your body and inflammation skyrockets 

Yomight have sun poisoning if you have…  

  • Blisters 
  • Hives or rash 
  • Fever and chills 
  • Nausea 
  • Dehydration 
  • Headache 
  • Pain and tingling 
  • Vision problems 

Your best solution for both sunburn and sun poisoning is to get the heck out of the sun, stay hydrated, and take an anti-inflammatory (like curcumin) 

If the sunburn covers large part of your body, you have fever or chills, headache, upset stomachswelling and – especially — if you have headaches, confusion, or faintness, get yourself to an urgent care asap.
