A new study published in the International Journal of Obesity shows that maintaining your vitamin D levels as you age may be the BEST way to SHED unwanted pounds.
You see, the more vitamin D you have, the more leptin your body produces.
Leptin is a hormone made by fat cells found around your small intestines that sends signals to your brain when you’re full.
So, when your leptin levels are high you don’t feel very hungry. And keeping this hormone balanced is one of the easiest ways to lose weight or keep your weight stable.
The researchers in the study found the best way to boost your own vitamin D levels was to get regular exercise.
But there are a few other ways to boost your vitamin D… and you won’t have to break a sweat doing them.
First, get more sun exposure.
Vitamin D is called the sunshine vitamin because sunlight helps your body naturally produce this crucial nutrient. Getting at least 15 minutes of unprotected sunlight a day should help boost your levels.
Or if you live in a climate that’s not conducive to sunbathing, you can get a vitamin D supplement at your local pharmacy.
Now, just imagine how your waistline would shrink if you exercised in the sun and took a vitamin D supplements!
